love the sand idea, seem to work pretty good in combination with the drywall separators since the paper in the adjecent slots did not catch fire I bought some new lipos for my rc car and got a new 4-channel charger (Hota F6+) with storage mode so I can take better care of my batteries....all my old ones are puffed to like 150% their original thickness ;o] I plan to order a metal box for storage (now I store in lipo bags alone) and one to covert to a dedicated charging box like you have where I can charge 8 batteries at once (both my rc cars use two 3s batteries that I charge as 6s to balance all 6 cells to same level)

I've dabbled in holography back in the late 80s, through the late 90s. Even took the holography symposium courses at Lake Forest University, in 91, and had my own single colour lab. I never thought I'd live long enough to see holography come to this level of perfection. I've only dreamed of such high quality. This is truly extraordinary. Thanks for sharing this with us.

just make a normal 220 V plug on the outside, then make a complete seal inside. If done correctly you wont ever get a fire ... Disclaimer: im not a pro

if you are just putting them in a vacuum sealed bag it CANT GO WRONG (cuz fire wont burn if you have no oxygen ) or put the exaust pipe into a box with the batteries as CO2 is supposed to take out fire i think that what they said at my 10 minute fire training session to use co2 extinguishers

Good project I’m gathering information from RUclips and started buying parts for ebike battery and my RC drone . Bought 21” Harbur freight metal tool box lining with 1/4” cement board . After batteries in box lying top bags of sand to smother fire if any . Also important to have vent hole so no pressure build up .

Thanks for sharing and showing how it should be done. I've used steel casette for money and lipo pouches inside about 10years ago and it was always my concern, that in an extreme case with fire shooting off the battery, the temperature might get transferred through the steel and spread onto furniture or wooden/rubber floor or car interior. I also had some kind of fireproof 0,5cm thick fabric to put either under the pouches or under that cassette. But I was still concerned. This is super well made. Today a good idea would also be to buy a smoke/fire detector with sim card support and smartphone alert to be always next to or mounted on the lid of the cassette, so when we are away, it can let us know that something is going on.

Instead of sand I would use glass bubbles you can buy for lipos. They are said to melt on the burning lipos and seal them from air, quenching the flames. I’m freaked out by the same situation. Only have my apartment, no garage.
